A logo animation done for the network: MTV. MTV is the definition of music, reality television, and all things weird, geeky, unique -- you name it. Their audience is a younger demographic, that enjoy humor, rebellion, and vulgarity.
To appeal to this audience, the animation was done using frame-by-frame cell animation. The animation begins with a gooey "wet" form exploding from the center of the frame. The goo then morphs into the iconic MTV logo. This gooey "gross" form nods to the idea of a booger or slime, playing off of that "naughty" yet fun and playful vulgarity.
This animation was a lot of fun to produce and was my first attempt at cell animation. I really enjoyed creating this piece and hope to incorporate more cell animation in my work in the future.
